JOB PURPOSE: To manage financial accounting and payroll operations, processes and systems ensuring that financial statements are accurate and transactions are in compliance with policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and international financial accounting reporting standards. 3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Strategic Planning and Performance Management: Contribute to the development of the financial controller strategy by developing the annual accounting plan to ensure that the activities performed are aligned to the overall financial controller strategy. Monitor the performance of the accounting department and prepare periodic reports on its overall performance to ensure performance deviations are identified and reported in a timely manner and that actions are adjusted to achieve the set annual plans. Budget Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of the accounting budget, and monitor the financial performance of the accounting activities versus set budget to ensure alignment with set budget guidelines. Financial Accounting: Set Bakhashab common chart of accounts and ensure this is effectively implemented across in order to ensure consistent and accurate flow of financial accounting information. Manage effective and accurate flow of transactions related to the general ledger ensuring all financial accounting activities are accurately reflected in the accounting books in accordance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and any other relevant international accounting standards. Ensure the effective management of fixed asset accounts, asset categorisation and depreciation analysis in order to ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards. Manage and review account payables and receivables related transactions, and review aging of payables/ receivables in order to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders on insufficient or incorrect accounting information and maintain effective control over payments. Reviews vendors and third parties contracts’ so as to protect the interests of the company and ensure that all invoices and payments comply with the relevant terms and conditions. Financial Reporting: Manage the development and review of periodical financial reports and financial statements in line with local and international accounting standards in order to keep management informed about Bakhashab financial health to inform decision making. Payroll Management Manage the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll for all employees ensuring its accuracy and the timely payment of compensation and benefits. Relationship Management: Liaise with external entities (e.g. banks, external auditors, etc.) as required to ensure that any queries are answered in a prompt and efficient manner. Continuous Improvement: Stimulate team members and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. 4. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (ILLUSTRATIVE NOT EXHAUSTIVE): Internal: Regular interactions with the Financial Controller to provide up-date on progress against strategic objectives, and report any significant matters. Regular interactions with the business units to coordinate on cross-functional matters, ensure effective sharing of critical information and resolve major issues. Regular interactions with direct subordinates to manage and oversee performance of the function, provide guidance and manage the day-to-day operations. External: Banks, Financial Institutes, Auditors, Regulatory Authorities.
