• Build and maintain positive relationships with all customers in order to exceed their needs.
• Create a positive image in every interaction with customers. Effectively handles guest /customer complaints.
• Supervises laundry service operations, ensure optimum quality of work, prompt pick up and on time delivery of garments.
• Develops and implements standard operating procedures, as well as production and quality standards
• Prepares reports and coordinates work schedules for laundry operations.
• Coordinates the requisition of supplies and materials and maintains appropriate records.
• Coordinates the receipt, distribution, repair, storage, collection, and inventory of clothing and linens.
• Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on machines and equipment and ensures other repairs and adjustments are made.
• Maintains records on production, time worked, and materials. Prepares a monthly laundry and dry-cleaning production summary report.
• Plans, assigns, and/or supervises the work of others to ensure that the highest possible hygiene and finish standard is maintained at all times. Use appropriate protective clothing when dealing with soiled or infected linen.
• Ensure the laundry is clean and tidy. Checks constantly all laundry and dry-cleaning equipment, to ensure that the machines are kept clean, properly maintained and in efficient operating condition.
• Ensures all associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
• Work for promoting the good reputation of the laundry and the security of the laundry is maintained at all times.
• Schedules work times in a way to optimize production,utilization of water and energy
• Make sure statutory health, environment and safety standards are applied in the laundry, and ensure compliance with all policies, standards and procedures.
• Ensures consistent workflow to minimize peaks and valleys in production.
• Control and record chemical consumption and reorder as required, Monitors wash formulas and use of washroom chemicals in order to maintain whiteness /brightness of linen and to ensure linen is returned to user departments free of stains and unpleasant odors.
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
• Prepares and administers detailed induction program for new staff
• Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
• Conducts such functions as interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, counseling and dismissal if necessary to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity. Conducts with General Manager or delegate and Human Resources Manager, as appropriate, in performing these duties.
