Purpose :
Java/Portal Applications Lead will be responsible for the provision of the management and control of the Java and Portal applications portfolio, the main responsibilities in this position are definition, architecture, design, development, implementation, support and maintenance of our client's portal web applications. This position requires Hands-on individual with emphasis on User Interface/User Experience software development expertise.
Java/Portal application lead will have the full responsibility for service management, applications management, incident management and change management for the Java applications and adherence to SLA's. This will include responsibility for overseeing the support delivered by the partner vendors.
Responcibilities :
In collaboration with the Operations Delivery Leadership Team, contribute to the development and delivery of the services in Java and Portal domain
Provide technical leadership in software application development of the user interface and user experience for portal web applications, search engine driven solutions, Content Management System based web sites, and other custom web applications.
Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Manage the relationship with functional and technical teams to provide both incident resolution and development services
Provides input, guidance and recommendations on Technical Designs developed by other team members
Maintain the integrity, manageability and architectural aspects of developed applications
Lead or supervise a team of analysts/developers
Acts as a technical lead in the design, development, testing and implementation of technology solution (significant amount of support may need to be performed outside of normal working hours)
Establishes a performance baseline; Monitors system performance and tune for peak performance
Reviews and provides input into user acceptance test plans as appropriate
Responsible for post implementation review and monitoring of the applications
Participates in Change Request process to document and justify the need for changes.
Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with Customer and other team members
Other activities as may require to fulfil the objectives of the role
