JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for implementation of new and existing business opportunities. Support the wider organisation in respect of qualifications and membership to maximise revenues, business development opportunities and reputation through offering advice and guidance to existing and potential internal and external clients.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Identify New Business Opportunities:
Utilize market intelligence to enable early identification of potential market opportunities.
Work with internal and external customers to identify and deliver opportunities within existing and related sectors
Maximise the sales potential of company services and products to generate new feasible income steams against identified targets
Customer Liaison and Service:
Act as a main key point of contact for customer queries, ensuring that, as far as possible, issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently
Provide guidance and advice to customers relating to Marafiq services and products.
Stakeholder Management :
Build strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to determine needs and requirements and ensure wherever possible these are met
Understand the Utility sectors needs and concerns and ensure these are communicated appropriately to colleagues for business benefit
Make recommendations to management on a variety of issues related to economic forecasting and monitoring, revenue and cost analysis, market analysis, and strategy developments.
JOB CONTEXT:
The jobholder directly reports to Manager Business Development Department.
The breadth of the position is significant in that, as well as considering how revenues from existing sources can be maximised, the jobholder is also responsible for help businesses improve their performance and grow by solving problems and finding new and better ways of doing things and at same time assessing and advise Business development Manager considering new business areas into which Marafiq may enter. This includes increasing the geographical coverage for the provision of existing services (not only the expansion of the existing Yanbu and Jubail industrial areas but also growing Marafiq to become a national or regional utilities supplier) and considering additional services which Marafiq may provide within its existing geographical scope or moving into entirely new economic sectors.
Once potential business development routes have been identified, the jobholder is responsible for the impact of the initiatives on the organisation from a financial, operational and technical perspective. However, these evaluations, after review by the Business Development Manager will be presented to President and Executive Management Team for further direction and approval process
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
University degree in an engineering, commercial, or financial discipline.
MBA from an internationally-recognised business school preferred.
Minimum Experience:
8 years in a commercial environment within the utilities sector or a relevant industrial sector.
3 years’ experience in a business development position or similar working environment within the utilities sector or a relevant industrial sector.
Experience of business modelling at a corporate level.
.Job-Specific Skills:
Sound understanding of Marafiq strategic planning and budgeting processes.
Excellent business modelling skills.
Excellent knowledge of the utilities sector across the region and internationally
Excellent understanding of Economic Value Added (EVA) philosophy and principles
