Job Role and Purpose:
The Head - Demand Management plays the lead role in ensuring that product demand forecasts are created, reviewed, published and refined when appropriate. Interacts and communicates with sales, marketing, finance, purchasing, supply planning, and other departments as appropriate to obtain current, accurate and relevant information. The management duties include supervising demand planners, working with marketing and sales in understanding forecasting implications of activities and events, working with the materials team in supporting long term forecasts for raw materials and commodity procurement, and playing a key role in developing and executing the strategic direction for objectives in forecast accuracy and bias. Supports a coordinated service level and inventory strategy with supply planning. The role plays a leadership role in the S&OP’s demand planning process and drives alignment with cross-functional partners such as sales, marketing, finance, consumer and customer relations, warehouse and dispatch operations, manufacturing, and procurement in order to achieve world class forecast accuracy.
