JOB SCOPE:
Accountable for leading and managing the development of the curriculum (specific subject or programme) to meet the qualification requirements as set by Saudi Skills Standards and the delivery of the desired learning outcomes based on efficacy and commercial outcomes. This may include introducing Pearson (Edexcel) qualifications to support learning. Working with the College Deans, the Head of Vocational Curriculum is to ensure that the curriculum is delivered consistently across the colleges, including the implementation of an agreed framework, selection of course/learning materials, lesson plans, assessment framework and quality standards. This is a highly collaborative role across the TQ COE and Pearson academic communities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop the curriculum based on the structure agreed and validated with the colleges:
Lead on the development and design of curriculum and content to deliver the outcomes required by the qualifications set by Saudi Skills Standards, Pearson’s efficacy framework and where relevant Pearson (Edexcel) qualifications
Build innovation into curriculum design to support the personal learning styles of Saudi learners.
Work with Deans, Heads of Teaching and Learning and Curriculum Managers across the colleges to implement and embed curriculum solutions into the classrooms in a consistent manner leading to the required learning outcomes
Provide support to the operational and curriculum delivery planning processes and the organisation of course team activity where required
Develop and deliver staff and student induction activities and CPD for staff in a timely manner
Support the creation of schemes of work and lesson plans based on the individual college needs, at the same time maintaining a consistent approach across colleges
Work with Deans and employer engagement teams to ensure suitable OJT opportunities in each vocational area, including, where required, establishing and managing internal workplace environments
Chair a cross-college vocational development and implementation group
Support the development of the learner journey:
Ensure learning supports the learner journey and prepares learners for employment
Ensure learning meets requirements through imaginative delivery and assessment
Ensure robust, rigorous and consistent assessments are developed by curriculum teams across the colleges
With the Head of Academic Services, ensure that assessment tracking systems follow up on student progression
Define and monitor KPIs to assess curriculum delivery success or failure
Work the TQ Head of Quality to develop a review and feedback framework in order to monitor vocational progress against KPIs
Review and analyze on an ongoing basis future vocational requirements and delivery plans
