Takes the lead in capturing business applications requirements, translating those requirements into system requirements, and implementing those requirements through hands-on development of applicable applications modules and interfaces. Maintains the availability and reliability of both in-house and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. Ensures the integrity and security of the company’s data through programmatic data validation, database rules, and implementing best practices security measures.
Develops procedures governing the applications life cycle and version control for source code. Ensures compliance with applicable records retention policies. Interfaces with vendor personnel for resolution of COTS issues beyond the scope and capabilities of staff personnel.
The job holder provides application/solution analysis and development to all PCC personnel.
Internally works closely with the ITC Section Head to plan and execute software projects. Works extensively with end-user community to gather system requirements, test solutions, document use, and provide training. Also provides technical direction to ITC DBA Technician.
Externally has contact with software vendors to install, maintain, and troubleshoot software and services.
Experience: At least 5 years experience working as an applications developer preferably in a 7x24 manufacturing environment. Must have experience using both SQL and Oracle on the back-end. DBA experience would be a plus.
