Plan and direct policies, procedures, or systems to prevent the loss of assets, determine risk exposure or potential liability, implement strategic initiatives to significantly reduce/minimize areas of risk related to security, stock loss/shrinkage, safety, and contingency/crisis management.
- Planning and Analyzing
1. Administer systems and procedural safeguards to reduce loss, maintain stock control and increase safety.
2. Identify potential for loss through analysis of results and investigations, and develop strategies to eliminate it in coordination with operation and finance.
3. Monitor compliance to operational, safety, or inventory control procedures, including physical security standards through regular visits to shops and warehouse.
4. Recommend improvements in loss prevention programs, staffing, scheduling, or training.
5. Take part in writing, implementing and following up the cash collection procedures and processes.
6. Maintain documentation of all loss prevention activity and analyze any statistical data required to provide accurate reports.
7. Keep abreast of latest trends and best practices regarding loss prevention and make recommendations as appropriate.
- Security Management
1. Assess security needs across locations to ensure proper deployment of loss prevention resources, such as staff and technology.
2. Verify correct installation, use and maintenance of physical security systems such as cameras, merchandise tags and Anti-Theft alarms by ongoing supervision.
3. Survey shops, including pre-opening, and all company premises to identify and categorize levels of risk and actions required to reduce crisis/risks.
- Products and Premises Protection
1. Build preventive procedures and processes to protect all steps of merchandise handling, shops, stockrooms, warehouse, Capex and other Company premises.
2. Collaborate with insurance agencies to cover all losses related to theft, fire or other cases.
3. Protect internal and external theft and pilferage though security systems and staff.
4. Train employees including shops and warehouse on loss control and prevention measures
5. Perform cash audits and deposit investigations to fully account for shop cash.
6. Coordinate or conduct internal investigations of criminal incidents and violations of loss prevention policies, and liaise with operation, HR, legal office and Police.
7. Perform or direct inventory investigations in response to shrink results outside of acceptable ranges.
- Health and Safety
1. Set Health and Safety standards/best practices, train staff on and audit/report non-compliance to the management.
2. Maintain an incidents reporting system to publicize safety risks and promote safe working practice.
3. Assess Fire Risk across offices, shops and warehouses and implement critical disciplines and audit compliance
4. Ensure that Fire precautions are in place and that Fire evacuation routines are established and regularly rehearsed.
5. Train staff in correct procedures related to cases of customer incidents / thefts involving violence or potential violence.
