Maintain proper books of accounts for financial and cost accounting transactions and perform the other assigned accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial accounting,managerial and
cost accounting functions whilst maintaining the relevant records;
- Prepare standard management reports; monthly or as is required in a timely and consistent manner.
- Assist in the preparation of the company’s financial operating & capital budgets,cash flow and other financial reports
- Ensure the turnaround time in processing accounting transactions and producing accounting records is minimized;
- Undertake periodic reviews of the accounting systems to strengthen the internal controls and improve timeliness in thepreparation of reports.
- Co-ordinate the reports on inventory movement, raw material consumption, production and other related reports in respect of inventory so as to record the same in accounting system.
- Maintain accurate records for materials stored with third parties, outlets etc in respect of material receipt, stock transfers, closing inventory etc on timely basis.
- Take part of the team engaged in the company’s annual physical stock taking at all the locations.
- Close monthly accounts taking into consideration all necessary provisions and adjustments for the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assist the Chief Accountant in the preparation of Monthly and Annual Financial Statements, Cash Flow, Annual Budget, Periodical reports, and variation report on budget vs. actual, costing and other management reports.
- Assist the Chief Accountant in the management of the treasury functions.
- Ensure proper bank reconciliation’s are carried out on a monthly basis.
- Prepare letter of credit applications, guarantees applications and other trade finance documents when required.
- Provide assistance to external auditors for the conduct and completion of the internal and annual audit of the company.
- Ensure that the payroll is processed on time
- Act on behalf of Chief Accountant when required;
- Properly interpret, classifications and allocations of expenses and revenues;
- Perform any other duties as delegated by the Chief Accountant.
