Health & Safety Manager
• To develop a positive Health and Safety culture within the Company and to promote awareness of injury prevention and damage control to all levels of office and site personnel
• Implement the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
• Inspect various site facilities observing operations and activities, investigating health and safety complaints and ensuring that all work areas, are in compliance with safety legislation
• Coordinates and consults with Department Heads and Project Managers regarding health and safety issues in their respective areas and recommend corrective actions for any safety violation noted
• Make recommendations for corrective action and follow-up to ensure that violations are corrected
• Prepare Monthly Safety Reports in respect of all Departments and Project Sites
• Organize and convene safety training courses, including classroom lectures, demonstrations and hands-on instructions
• Review accidents and contraventions; and compile recommendations for future prevention
• Ensure that projects comply with all environmental regulations, regarding hazardous substance handling and disposal
• Inspect and test machinery and equipment such as lifting devices, machine guards and scaffolding to ensure compliance with current safety regulations and operational use
• Inspect, test and Identify work areas for potential hazardous substances and emissions, such as toxic fumes, combustible gases and implement preventative measures
• Help supervise and investigate accidents in instances of unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend corrective and preventive measures
• Coordinate and implement emergency procedures, firefighting policy and first aid site allocations
