JOB SUMMARY
To promote optimal nursing care in the respective hospital/center through planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing education programs the meet educational needs for the staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assesses learning needs, assists in learning plans of individual or group of nursing staff. Maintainsdocumentation and action plans related to staff developmental need with coordination with clinical instructors.
2. Developing curricula, courses outlines, instructional materials, training manuals, audiovisual materials, and testing methods of the hospital/center
3. Plans and conducts teaching sessions appropriate to staff level of competency for safe and effective delivery of patient care that assure compliance with the institution and accreditation agencies standards.
4. Works with all health care members in the programs and activities designed for improvement andadvocates excellence of patient care outcomes.
5. Mentor, supervise, and follow up preceptors and maintain the appropriate bedside training for the newemployee.
6. Develop and review nursing clinical/educational policies and procedures that meet the international standards and accreditation agencies requirements
7. Developing, implementing and evaluating the in-service programs utilizing appropriate teaching and evaluating modalities
8. Actively participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of orientation program and skillscompetency assessments for staff.
9. Provides new nursing employee with specific orientation program.
10. Prepares statistics and/or monthly report of training activities, maintains clinical teaching record, and assistin data collection and analysis for statistical purposes as requested.
11. Participates in establishing and arranging productive and interactive nursing registration of staff infundamental courses.
12. Performs scheduled nursing staff academic evaluation, verification letter for academic attendance, andrandom clinical bedside evaluation.
13. Participates in the performance appraisal of all nursing staff and new employees of direct patient care andclinical documentation.
14. Follow up training activities of nursing interns and students.
15. Fill and revise staff assessment tools, evaluation and performance records, random inspections reports, and incidents reports.
16. Provide nursing staff with the most updated knowledge, practice and actively participation in courses and demonstrations.
17. Actively participate in research activities, publications, nursing practices improvement initiatives, and Saudi Nursing Career Development Programs
18. Assumes responsibility for own professional growth & demonstrates initiative in the performance of duties.
19. Perform other assigned tasks relevant to this function, including but not limited to quality improvement projects.
