On behalf of a leading hospital in Saudi Arabia we are seeking a Medical Director/ Chief of Staff. Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical management of a 200+ bed hospital.
The Medical Director shall be a fully accredited medical doctor licensed to practice medicine in the United States. Ability to plan and direct medical programs for implementation in the hospital system as well as the ability to develop and implement quality assurance, and assure high quality of patient care. This is a senior level administrative position with responsibility for all clinical services. Responsibility includes the authority to oversee all aspects of health care delivery including planning, resource allocation, growth and development, regulatory compliance, quality, efficiency and the recruitment and supervision of all medical staff.
• Assist the CEO in the selection and evaluation of provider staff.
• Provide technical advice to the CEO on matters of medical judgment.
• Provide consultation and peer review for all providers
• Advise the CEO in medical staffing requirements and scheduling medical coverage for all medical centers.
• Review quality of care provided by medical personnel through periodic chart review.
• Assist the CEO in determining the need and arranging for continuing education opportunities for medical personnel.
• Evaluation and selection of chairman’s for clinical departments and medical units.
• Assist in the development of a specialist referral list, and advise regarding referral arrangements.
• Provide input for the annual budget including a write-up of the medical system and any changes in the past year and draft objectives for the next year.
• Do scheduling of providers for all clinics.
• Maintains and enhances the highest standards of health care delivery to all patients.
• Ensures that all health care services are provided in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Oversees, monitors and updates the medical policies and procedures
• Assists in the development of data, statistics and performance outcomes and measures, and compliance reporting.
• Reviews relevant patient complaints and satisfaction surveys and responds when necessary.
• Supervises the development, implementation and operation of a quality assurance program as it relates to patient care; may delegate to other clinical staff. Participates in quality improvement processes where clinical procedures overlap with other departments’ procedures; may delegate.
• Presents reports on health and quality improvement matters to the Board regularly and periodically, as determined by the Board.
• Addresses risk management and patient grievances relating to clinical care.
