Analyze contractual technical requirements versus the already delivered design. Propose resolution plan to fill gaps and achieve employer approval of the design
Develop and coordinate the design approval workshops with the Engineer, the Employer, the Independent Design Checker and the Independent Safety Assessor in coordination with Project Management, Contract Manager, the Project Engineering Managers
Ensure with the platforms, Design Authorities, the proper involvement of technical expertise to cover project needs
Define and implement a design review/check project procedure of the produced documents by system and sub-system design teams including, and not limited to, Rolling Stock, Track, Power Supply, Signalling, Telecoms, Automatic Fare Collection, Depot Systems… in all design stages up to the delivery and approval by Employer.
Review and/or assess the project technical system architecture and each sub-system then define necessary actions to mitigate technical risks and resolve identified design issues.
Review and/assess system specifications, simulation, designs and construction documents and assess the readiness for the construction, testing and commissioning
Oversight Interface and integration management of railways E&M systems with MEP and Civil Work design and construction
Strongly contribute with the T&C manager to the T&C strategy, plan and operations
Review design schedule and the key design tasks again Alstom commitments
Ensure that related project technical changes are consistently analyzed, instructed and approved through the change control boards align with defined project change and configuration process
Analyze and ensure proper application of project defined norms and standards.
Analyse Engineering Team needs of staff and competencies, consequently advise the Project Director in taking the necessary measures to adjust to the project needs
Ensure Technical coordination on key issues to support the right delivery of Engineering works
Ensure an oversight their implementation of railways engineering processes inside the project
Streamline and ensure the quality checking, technical coordination, design approval and follow up of the Power Supply design works in all design stages.
Apply systematic return of experience and ensure the right feedback to Platform and to tender/project engineering teams for continuous improvement
Be part of designated technical group and meetings of Consortium.
Ensure a structured follow-up of railways norms, standards and regulations that are required in the project to ensure a proper delivery
Follow the KPIs to measure the design technical maturity and approval
The Systems Technical Director ensures an engineering leadership position within Riyadh Metro Project, a full automatic metro project working for Alstom inside the FAST Consortium. Alstom, world leader of Integrated Solutions in both Urban and Mainline. The position is aiming to oversight the technical and engineering development of Metro Systems inside project, engaging technical leadership vis-à-vis the Employer, the Engineer and in close coordination with the Consortium Technical Office.
Operationally reporting to the Project Director and to the MEA Systems and Infrastructures Engineering director, the Riyadh System Technical Director is in charge of advising in all technical matters to ensure the execution of engineering works comprising Transport System Engineering, Rolling Stock, Track work, Power Supply, Signalling, Telecoms, AFC, PSD, Depot Systems. He/She leads and provides a strong technical coaching to team. The position is located in Riyadh, KSA and will have a close coordination with Railways Systems and Infrastructure expert based in France.
