Job Purpose:
To ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions, reporting of accounting activities, reconciliation and control of accounts (general ledger, accounts related to specific departments, etc).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
Daily Operations:
•Follow daily operations relating to their own job to ensure work continuity.
•Contribute to preparing timely and accurate reports that concern the Department’s line of work to meet the requirements, objectives, and standards of the Exchange and the department.
•Ensure the satisfaction of both internal and external customers by addressing their needs in a courteous and timely manner.
General Accounting:
•Assist in monthly closings and journal entries in order to generate concise and standardized accounting statements.
•Assist in the financial reconciliation of specific accounts (e.g., accrual expenses, provisions) to ensure adequacy and accuracy of all financial data.
•Update and reconciles the GL with all the transactions and activities, so as to enable the accurate monitoring and reporting of all transactions.
Accounts Payable & Receivables:
•Update all transactions in the accounting system and proceeds to the allocation of expenses to the respective cost center, so as to enable the continuous follow-up of budget execution.
•Coordinate with relevant departments in issuing bills and invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.
•Administer accounts receivable ensuring the effective monitoring of all cash inflow through efficient reporting in financial statements.
Tax and Zakat:
•Prepare tax and Zakat calculations for functions within the Exchange to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
•Perform all tax and Zakat related activities such as posting tax and Zakat entries, processing tax and Zakat payments and maintaining tax and Zakat documentations as rules and regulations.
Governance and Resilience:
•Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and processes in order for the work to be carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
•Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices, work processes, cost effectiveness, and productivity enhancement.
•Promote to other employees within the organization the implementation and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and instructions.
