POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To perform fundamental ‘buy-side’ research on Shari’a-compliant companies listed on the targeted (GCC/global) stock-exchanges, to develop and maintain earnings models and a database of information relevant to investments, to form conclusions on the relative attractiveness of shares and to articulate these views to the “CIO/decision maker” to assist them in their portfolio management activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct in-depth analysis of the industry and publicly-traded companies in the main sectors.
2. Develop deep understanding of the sector trends and individual company performance within the sector by leveraging primary research, publications, website, conferences and seminars and personal contacts.
3. Prepare an accessible database for data pertaining to the relevant companies.
4. Develop conviction on ‘buy’, ‘sell’ or ‘hold’ positions, and articulate investment opinions to CIO.
5. Understand the specific business needs in respect of the market and direct research activities to support the requirements.
6. Provide management information to the CIO on a periodic and adhoc basis.
7. Liaise with other staff (as applicable) within the Investment Sector on all market related issues.
8. Manage the relationship with the external providers of research and analysis.
9. Communication with Third parties (research agencies) - To discuss and obtain relevant information.

Quality and accuracy of research and analysis conducted
