Job Objectives:
The Chief Accountant is responsible for corporate accounting and preparation of management and financial reports. And will be responsible for active coordination with Business units on various financial matters.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain financial systems and controls to ensure the efficiency, integrity and transparency of BU FS in accordance with IFRS guidelines, national legal requirements and internationally accepted accounting standards.
- Responsible to implement the company`s policy & accounting guidelines, oversee compliance with the established company policies and procedures, act as a warrant to implement the company`s Delegation of Authorities
- Oversee corporate accounting and ensure timely closing of books
- Ensure accurate periodical reconciliation of intercompany accounts with all Business units.
- Evaluate and review the accounting practices and eliminate non-value added activities.
- Responsible to control receivables and payables, ensure timely and accurate payments to the supplier` accounts and escalate any discrepancies to the management with the proposed solutions.
- Support in efficient working capital management across the group,
- Ensure to control and monitor the utilization of the company`s petty cash as per the company`s policy & procedures and maintain control log.
- Play an active role while preparing the corporate annual budget.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing.
- Oversee the proper use of ERP by the users to ensure to minimize any implication in financial closing.
- Identifies and computes accruals and ensure its accuracy on monthly basis.
- Provides timely relevant information during financial audits
- Responsible to implement the company`s operating standards to control the inventory periodically.
- Establishes and maintains timely and thorough reporting on all accounting management facets of the company, provide the management & associate teams with periodical reports and analysis.
- Prepares the Financial Report and the supporting statistical schedules which is used for internal analyses by the shareholders, Management, Auditors & the associate teams.
- Ensure maintaining high communication level with the suppliers` and clients` accounts department, responsible to reconcile the suppliers` and clients` accounts on monthly basis, resolve discrepancies and recommend action plans.
- Lead the communication with the associate teams to ensure their optimum understanding to the accounting day-to-day operational needs & guidelines.
- Assist the Group Financial Controller with the day-to-day requirements / needs.
- Provides training for all associate teams ensuring compliance with the regulations and avoid improper business practices.
- Adheres to management and financial reporting requirements
