Brief:
A civil engineer who will be responsible on the Design, technical material preparation and Technical Marketing (First Sales activities) of the company solutions in different regions in Middle
East.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Design and Technical Support for  'existing / new' projects
- Technical Marketing / First Sales for Specific Projects by interacting with consultant and client for Project creation and development.
- Networking, Branding, Internal and External Training.

A. DESIGNS & TECHNICAL SUPPORT  TO 'EXISTING / NEW' PROJECTS
A1. Designs for various Project Levels* (L1, L2 & L3) & Technical Proposals
*L1: Level 1; Conceptual Proposal:
- Conducting the technical presentations to the project stakeholders.
-Preparing the preliminary technical submittals for the suitable solutions and products.
*L2: Level 2; Technical proposals in the bidding stage:
-Collecting the design requirements from the reports/ drawings/ specifications...etc.
-Preparing all technical material related to the company scope of work.
-Preparing the bill of quantity and all designs needed for the cost analysis.
-Reviewing the technical parts in the contracts and the quotations made by the sales team.
*L3: Level 3; Final Design after project award:
-Communicate with the client and preparing all technical requirements for the project such as final design, construction shop drawings and technical arguments.
-Control all technical issues such as conducting the meetings in the construction sites.
-Make the required analysis needed to measure against the performance measurement baseline.
- Prioritise the follow up plan as per the
area manager’s recommendations and in accordance with the company strategy.
- Identify Maccaferri scope in projects with
the ability to make the cross sales for other Maccaferri solutions/ products and understanding the projects environment according to the company strategy.
- Assisting the technical knowledge to the sales team through conducting the regular training and technical evaluation for them,
- Making the required coordination to get the needed support from subject matter experts from Head Quarters (HQ) in Italy.
- Providing the required technical information needed for the techno-commercial proposals that are made for the supply contracts.
- Ability to use the design software such as MSEW, PLAXIS for the fainant element design, GGU and other software developed by the company.
- Ability to use AUTOCAD, and MS software (OneNote, Excel and Word)
 
A2. Monitoring and controlling the ongoing projects
- Developing the delivery schedule to the project according to the agreed construction schedule
- Conducting technical audits & monitoring quality of execution at construction sites in coordination AM of project region.
- Having the full knowledge in the international codes such as AASHTO, BS, AREMA and the Saudi specifications.
- Having the knowledge and the ability for development in using Maccaferri solutions in the following sectors:
A.Landfill
B.MSE walls
C.Embankment over soft soil.
D.Slope stability Rockfall mitigation.
E.Hydraulics, marines and coastal protection.
F.Road Pavement
G.Mining and oil and gas.
 
B.TECHNICAL MARKETING / FIRST SALES
- Developing the relations with the potential Clients, Consultants and Contracting Firms in the region and in the international market.
- Propagating the merits of using Maccaferri systems against conventional sector and competitor’s products among consultants, contractors and clients through various marketing tools.
-    
Developing and preparing the technical arguments such as the technical notes, comparison tables, and compliance sheet with fully awareness of the competitors’ solutions, systems and products.
- Managing to include Maccaferri specs with suitable 'eligibility / performance' criteria within Tender specification of the projects for which First Sales or Techno marketing is done.
 
C.NETWORKING, BRANDING,INTERNAL & EXTERNAL TRAINING
1-Self-training, internal organized training and awareness of new development sectors in both inside & outside the organization. Have updated market awareness and competitor knowledge.
2-Acquire knowledge & competency in all Maccaferri application sectors through self & organised training from subject matter experts in a very short time with keeping the continuous improvement.
3-Knowledge Management and efficient utilisation of standard tools like Design Information Sheets (DIS), Typical Drawings (TD), Technical Notes (TN), Comparison Tables (CT), Technical Data
Sheets (TDS), Case Histories (CH), Standard Designs (SD) etc. with developing the company library that should be available according the sales team needs.
4-Collecting latest information on our existing structures and assist the AM of the project region to do final editing
of CH documents.
5-Participating in local and international conferences and conducting the technical presentation and workshops.
6-Ability to build a technical team and hiring the needed human resources in accordance with the company strategy.
