A global bank in the MENA region has expanded over past decade to embrace UAE, KSA, Qatar and Pakistan as countries with permanent booking entities. Due to internal rotation, an opportunity has arisen in the Group Finance function in their Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) office in Riyadh.
This position of Assistant Finance Manager (AVP) involves supporting the Head of Finance, KSA (in Riyadh) and the Regional Financial Manager (in Dubai) in providing full-service Finance support under the Regional Finance function.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate solid banking and markets Finance experience and will require 'hands-on' experience of the following functional areas:
- Main liaison and point of contact for the KSA financial services regulator.- Managing external/internal audits of the entity including resolving the issues arise during audit in a timely and efficient manner, coordinating with relevant parties as and when required.- Managing regulatory and taxation returns for the entity including review of monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns.- Validation, control and, in some instances, execution of Daily P&L and Risk reporting for various businesses (both onshore KSA and in respect of other MENA region books), liaising directly with front office and operational staff and management in Riyadh- Regular and ad hoc MIS and FA/MA financial accounting and reporting coverage, primarily for corporate bank's businesses, but also supporting both transaction services and wealth management onshore businesses- Facilitation of the month-end balance sheet substantiation as secondary Finance owner- The Assistant Finance Manager (AVP) will liaison with both line business management and infrastructure functions to ensure that- appropriate internal controls are in place- Assisting in the completion of New Product Approval cross-functional risk-assessment checklists for new product or business implementations
In addition, the role will require:
- Onshore KSA coverage for other core Finance roles, as directed by Head of Finance, KSA- Support for Regional FM of corporate banking with regard to regional support, as agreed with Head of Finance, KSA
The role of Assistant Finance Manager (AVP) requires the following competencies gained in an international or large domestic Banking or Securities working environment as follows:
- Strong product accounting knowledge for vanilla Markets and the corporate bank's products- The ability to analyse and communicate 'risks' inherent in a given operational or product booking situation, as well as delivering appropriate solutions- Application skills which demonstrate an aptitude for change and a 'hands-on' approach- Strong inter-personal communication skills to support relationship-building across multifunctional teams- An ability to work on initiative
Other requirements:
- a recognised Accounting Qualification, with 3-4 years PQE in the areas above- Understanding of core Finance systems, interface and financial data standard knowledge (SAP, Janus, BCS, FIM)- Strong MS Office skills
