The Design Coordinator will work collaboratively with internal and external teams to support the execution of Design related projects. He must be an expert in cross-functional collaboration, project trafficking, and process improvement.
Typical Duties:
· Review the architectural drawings, reports, specification submitted by the Design Consultant to ensure completeness, correctness, comply with the scope of work and requirements.
· Review the design related to his discipline and advises the Design Manager of any deficiency.
· Review the periods shown in the Master Program for Client’s approvals, Municipality Permits, No Objection Certificates, and other statutory approvals and advise the Design Manager accordingly.
· Assist in managing and co-coordinating the dissemination of all the design information on time amongst the Project Management Team
· Monitor the performance of the consultants engaged by Client to ensure that deliverables are in accordance with the approved Master Program.
· Attend regular co-ordination meetings with the Project Management Team to ensure the production of relevant design information in a timely manner so that the procurement and construction program can be maintained
· Assist the Design Manager in review and comments on Tender documents prior to issue by the Client to verify that the various parts of the documents are consistent and in accordance with the Client’s requirements relating to cost, quality, procurement strategy and program and that the scope is compatible with other contract packages.
· Assist the Design Manager in the pre-qualification of Tenderers and preparation of Tender lists
· Attend pre-tender conference with prospective tenderers
· Review the contract documents (drawings and specification related to his discipline) and advise the Design Manager of any deficiency.
