SUMMARY:
The Planning Manager reports to VP- Technical Affair and is responsible for planning and scheduling activities for substation projects and civil in Al Gihaz Holding. The Planning Manager provides general schedule guidance, direction and oversight of deployed planning teams, supervision and management of assigned staff and implementation of project training requirements relating to project procedure, tools and systems. Directs schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities. Provides generally non-routine planning and scheduling guidance. The role requires demonstrated skill in integrating schedules and identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to scheduling problems and in analyzing, developing and presenting schedule impact analysis in a fixed price environment. JOB DIMENSIONS: A. Supervision Received Reports to and receives technical and operational guidance from VP- Technical Affair. Receives operational direction from top management B. Supervision Exercised Provides technical and operational direction to assigned personnel. C. Contacts Continuing contacts with project managers; project team members; Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management; and client personnel. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Job Knowledge Establishes and maintains the planning work breakdown structure and schedule hierarchy for the project. Oversees the implementation of milestone schedules, the development and maintenance of the management schedule, engineering progress monitoring, procurement/construction monitoring and update of the Revised Works Programme, Internal Target Schedule, Time-Chainage and associated schedules in the project schedule hierarchy and reported of schedule progress and status. Manages schedule change control, contract notice and reporting requirements and is responsible for maintaining schedule quality control and contractual compliance. Directs schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities. Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the analysis function. Directs schedule reporting activities and provides assistance and guidance for the display or presentation of schedule information. Conducts personnel performance reviews and career counseling. Interviews candidates for employment and makes recommendations for employment decisions. Maintains liaison with VP and deployed personnel to coordinate workload and staffing plans, work processes, and procedures Directs all programme level schedule development and maintenance monitoring activities. Develops, interprets, and executes policy objectives and standards applicable to schedule maintenance and the monitoring of development functions. Participate in project related meetings, work closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls, and review project schedule data, Pending Items and Prime Contract Letters to: Ensure awareness of all project activities that may affect the prime contract; Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance; Take appropriate actions to protect BACS interest and/or improve project performance; Ensure compliance with prime contract terms and conditions; Supports schedule time impact analysis in both claim development and claim analysis for prime, subcontract scope and intra-consortium extension of time and delay and disruption claims.
