SUMMARY
The Risk Manager has three main responsibilities:
1. To compile and develop the risk management process and supporting procedures that will be issued by the NPMO for delivery and implementation by the EPMO’s.
2. To be the risk management Subject Matter Expert for engagement with the NPMO and the EPMO’s to support development, coaching, training and mentoring of NPMO / EPMO staff.
3. To monitor and report on the implementation of risk management by the EPMO’s on their projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
• Production of a suite of Establishment Phase deliverables to include:
• A risk management survey tool
• A chapter on ‘Risk Management’ for the White Book
• A risk management plan template
• A risk management procedure
• A risk register template.
• Support the Operations Phase where the Risk Manager will be responsible for engaging and close interaction with the NPMO Enablement and Learning and Development teams to support the EPMO risk management development program. This role will likely involve:
• Development and delivery of risk management training materials
• Reviewing project risk registers
• Facilitation of project risk workshops
• Coaching / mentoring of key NPMO and EPMO staff.
• Ensure that all project risks are identified, communicated and managed by the entities using best practices. This will involve the development and management of a project risk register to identify and capture the risks as well as recording management controls or interventions that should be implemented according to the scale and nature of the risks.
• In addition to these key responsibilities, the Risk Manager will draw upon their wider expertise, experience and knowledge to support successful prosecution of project activities, on an as-needed basis.
