- Contribute to the development and implementation of VAT principles for the Company.
- VAT preparation, completion, review and submission of VAT returns within the filing deadlines and in compliance with the local VAT lows and policies.
- Responsible for Define tax codes and IT configuration.
- VAT advisory role to advise on the VAT implications of transactions, and inform the team of the VAT issues and legislation changes.
- Provide input from o VAT perspective into company policies which ore being developed.
- Manage VAT audits and coordinating appeals ensuring all data is compiled to support the tax position taken.
- Assist with system testing with new VAT rule changes / projects.
- Ensure systems ore up to date with VAT rate and changes in VAT regulations as appropriate.
- Provide VAT training across the Company.
- Appraise and mentor the VAT Accountant.
- Prepare VAT returns in accordance with statutory datelines.
- Run exception reports for the month to identify any unusual VAT transactions and errors.
- Prepare VAT balance sheet reconciliations and VAT Profit and Loss reconciliation by set datelines. - Monitor VAT queries, ensure prompt response to all issues within strict time-frame.
- Assist with new VAT registration processes.
- Assist with system testing on new VAT rule changes / projects.
- Ensure systems ore up to dote for VAT rate changes.
- Support the audit process and provide support for VAT audits.
- Support VAT queries from Tax authorities.
- Changes to the master data on VAT (vendor or client) subject to approval by the VAT Team Lead.
- Responsible for preparation and archiving the relevant working papers, to ensure VAT audit trails.
