The Surveyor performs all office and field related survey assignments as defined by the Project Manager. The role of projects may also be defined as Survey Supervisor. The position commands a responsibility and necessity to set an example. The initiative is a prerequisite part of the role of all duties.
1.Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1.1 Operations
a) organize own work and delegate tasks to assigned staff.
b) Assist and directly support the Project Manager with the execution of given work and tasks.
c) Execute given work ensuring it is within project targets and in accordance with specifications, procedures, and work practices.
d) Supervision and quality control of field reporting, processing of data, computations and survey reports.
e) Liaise directly with client on relevant technical issues and on contractual/operational issues.
f) Responsible for actively ensuring QC procedures are followed by assigned staff.
g) Responsible for actively ensuring HSE procedures are followed by assigned staff.
1.2 Financial
a) Responsible for or assisting Project Manager in maintaining expense accounting in the field.
b) Accountable for own project and business related expenditure.
1.3 Personnel
a) Assess and advise Project Manager on assigned staff performance.
b) Advising, mentoring and training of assigned staff on technical, quality and safety
related issues.
1.4 Administration
a) Check and approve all field administrative reporting.
b) Is responsible for and / or assist with maintenance of field survey administration and
field filing system in accordance with work practices.
c) Ensure time spent on projects is properly accounted for.
d) Is responsible for and / or assist with field related expenditure reporting.
1.5 Specific Additional Duties
a) Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.
2.Principal Working Relationships
a) Work with assigned staff to ensure projects are completed to clients specifications.
b) Mentor and train assigned assistant for professional development within company
c) Meet with assigned staff on a regular basis to monitor job progress.
d) Meet with Project Manager for project debrief.
