Working as a member of the Proposal group, the Commercial Proposal Engineer leads the commercial development of customer proposals for the Energy, Chemicals and Resources Business Unit in KSA.
The incumbent will work with the Proposal manager, outside sales, operations, engineering, procurement and contracts to price and provide professional, timely, and winning proposals for outside sales to present to customers.
Job Description:
Work with outside sales to define customer commercial requirements in the Invitation to Bid;
Gather commercial scope and help facilitate the initial bid strategy;
Develop internal timelines to meet deadlines and hold strategy meetings with the appropriate groups as needed;
Interact with the various internal groups to gather the appropriate material, schedules, cost, pricing, and other commercial information related to the bid;
Proactively suggest alternatives and options (where possible) to reduce cost, improve value to customer and increase profitability;
Prepare comparative commercial figures from previous bids/projects to help facilitate Senior management decisions;
Coordinate with global offices to gather correct commercial figures;
Schedule proposal approval meetings and create information in support of decision making for such meetings;
Work with outside sales and other relevant groups to manage contract changes during the negotiation process;
Initiate and execute process improvements and streamline workflow of proposals;
Support global bid team initiatives where required;
Proven coordination and influencing skills in a global environment.
