Senior Registrar performs clinical duties under the supervision of the consultant staff in the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 
   
2. He/she supervises the work of Assistant Consultant/Resident and is responsible for organizing clinical management of patients admitted in the wards.
   
3. Daily ward rounds to know the latest condition of the patients admitted in the hospital.
   
4. Share in patient counseling and taking informed consent.
   
5. Perform emergency and elective minor and major operations
   
6. Seeks opinion and help of the consultant in different cases.
   
7. Interview and examine police cases.
   
8. Applying procedures of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
   
9. Managing patients admitted to MICU.
   
10. Attending out-patient clinic and examining all patients.
    

10.Associate Consultant follows high risk obstetrical and gynecological cases.

11. 
    
12. Perform minor procedures in the clinic.
    
13. Write medical reports for special cases as well as referring to other tertiary hospital.
    
14. Regular round in the labour room.
    
15. Supervise the work of junior doctors and midwives
    
16. Decide and perform vaginal deliveries.
    
17. Tackle emergencies in the labour and delivery rooms.
    
18. Answer faxes and see referred patients form central hospital and other hospitals.
    
19. Train Registrars, Residents, Interns, Medical Students, nurses, and midwives.
    
20. Attend and participates in the clinical meeting.
    
21. Presentation of up to date knowledge for continuous education purpose.
    

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

- Saudi Board, American Board or Canadian Fellowship, or equivalent.
