1. Performs a variety of routine and complex blood drawing procedures (Phlebotomy). Following the SOPs including but not limited to proper patient identification, following safety procedures and proper caring of customers.
2. Follow the laboratory’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) for the three phases (Pre-Analytical, Analytical and Post-Analytical phases) including but not limited to specimen handling, transportation, processing and reporting.
3. Run Quality controls for the different tests and prompt trouble shooting for Q.C results out of limit according to the Quality Control policies. Participate in CAP PT samples running or any other applied program.
4. Actively participates in any CME courses or training programs. Also, do the training for other staff on need.
5. Adjust, maintain, monitor and clean medical laboratory equipment and work area as per policies with documentation of all what is done.
6. Troubleshoot instruments and resolves technical problems whenever possible, documents corrective action, and reports problems to the supervisor.
7. Record the manually calculated or instrument results in the related work sheet, verify the data and recognize abnormal / unusual / critical results to clarify, confirm or report as per policies.
8. Keep all records (test results, Q.C, Maintenance, Temperature monitoring log..etc.) According to the lab retention time policy. Also, ensure post analytical specimen’s storage according to the specimen’s retention time policy.
9. Ensure the sufficiency of inventory of material supplies needed for his work.
10. Responsible for all quality and safety activities related to his job. Tasks should be done on time with no delay to ensure to keep improving TAT
