Job purpose
The main purpose of the Unit Head, Integrated Business Solutions position is to develop, plan, design and implement, support for innovative IT applications / IBS systems/projects. Determines scope of the project, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities and monitor progress. Evaluates and recommends changes to current and future ERP system requirements to meet AMHEC organizational needs, business-related processes in a cost-effective and a higher quality level.
Duties and responsibilities
- Participate in the collection of the tactical ERP business requirements for IT services solution and in the definition of the business to IT objectives on tactical levels.
- Lead and implements new organizational processes aligned with ERP configurations. Manages subordinate staff on day-to-day performance of their jobs by assigning action items and following up along the way until the deadline for each task/project is met.
- Validate and approve the solutions operational level requirements against the tactical level requirements.
- Lead Applications and Business Solutions operational planning and projects, and organize and negotiate the allocation of IT resources.
- Ability to understand technology trends and anticipates changes in business conditions. Proactively works with Senior IT Leadership to ensure appropriate action is taken to accommodate those changes.
- Manage and deliver large and complex engagements to identify design, and implement creative business and technology solutions across AMHEC’s functional areas.
- Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
- Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
- Management responsibility for the analysis, evaluation, development, testing and implementation of software and applications.
- Ensuring necessary technical training, awareness and experience levels are maintained within the team or department relevant to the applications being supported and processes being used.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.
- Provide a single point of contact on the tactical and operations level in the IT Department for all applications related matters.
- Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
- Lead by setting a good example (role model) - behavior consistent with words
- Coach and help develop team members, help resolve days functional behavior
- Ensure the resources availability and performance for the daily applications level 2 & 3 and level 4 support activities needed for the users
- Facilitate the delivery of the training, knowledge transfer and sufficient documentation for the service desk team to supply the applications support activities on both level 1 and level 2 support
- Facilitate the guidance to IT operations on operational activities related to applications
- Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures. Recommend, within divisional policy, appropriate service and staffing levels.
- Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhered to
- Provide end-to-end project leadership and/or participate as a technical team member for projects
- Engage with appropriate functional heads to verify requirements when and where needed
- Effectively plan (cost, resource & time), execute and communicate the project progress to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance at all times by defining & ensuring adherence to established processes and maintaining updated documentation at all times
- Establish and develop internal IBS practice solutions and methodologies
- Ensure ERP modules are up-to-date and bug free and provide procedures and reports to identify and resolve any data integrity issues
- Analyze AMHEC’s business modules and identify areas of processes digitization and improvements
- Interface closely with external consultants, applications owners and both internal techno-functional consultants and developers during the development lifecycle of applications for database analysis and design, and interface requirements
- Interface with the DBA, server & storage administrators to design proactive management processes that ensure ERP application availability & performance are in line with AMHEC’s needs
- Leads, directs, evaluates and develops the IBS team to ensure that the objectives are reached
- Is responsible for the development, performance appraisal and succession planning of all direct and indirect reports
- Promotes a highly effective management and leadership style in line with the AMHEC’s values that supports the achievement of its strategy and objectives

- Motivate and inspire team members
- Identifies and monitors key IT functional KPIs, and devises plans and initiatives for improvement
Health & Safety
· Promotes and disseminates a positive health and safety culture and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others
· Ensures employee health and safety programs and guidelines are developed, regularly maintained, implemented, reviewed and complied with
· Identifies any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and recommends and implements measures and solutions to mitigate these risks
Working conditions
· Nature or work may require working beyond standard working hours
Physical/ Travel requirements
· Travel (up to 15%) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to AMHEC’s sites, yards and branches
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
