- Lead and supervise Engineering team
Ø Technical Management of the Engineering Personnel.
Ø Overall supervision of the Engineering groups to ensure full control and follow-up of the Engineering Firms and Vendors.
Ø Ensure that Engineering provides the services required during the Construction, Commissioning & Start-Up periods.
Ø Forecast requirements for Engineering resources and allocate those resources.
Ø Prepare Engineering manhours estimate to perform Project(s) tasks.
- Manage the technical activities of the department
Ø Review and approve the inquiry documents for the selection of the Process and/or the Engineering Consultants. Review and approve the evaluation of the relevant offers.
Ø Manage Engineering design changes within schedule and budget (between all involved parties, i.e. Engineering Firms, Client, Vendors).
Ø Approve the key documents/drawings of the Project(s) and/or Tender(s), as well as, the technical solutions to be adopted in problematic areas (areas of concern) of the various Projects (or during tendering) discussing and analyzing them with the Lead Discipline Engineers, the Engineers of the Engineering department, the Process Consultants and the Engineering Consultants.
- Promote improvement of Engineering department
Ø Identify Engineering software necessary to enable Engineering department to function effectively.
Ø Ensure that the Engineering department is fully familiar with the applicable Project(s) Specifications and Standards.
Ø Keep library with updated Departmental International Standards and Codes usually used for the Projects undertaken by Company.
Ø Ensure compliance with QC/Safety/Environmental aspects.
Ø Ensure Engineering department activities in compliance with Company’s ISO standards
- Promote cost reduction
Ø Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
Ø Review and approve identified areas of improvement and/or alternative technically acceptable solutions, which could result in more economical solution during the execution of the Engineering activities.
Ø Control the Engineering manhours of the Engineering department to be within the approved budget and schedule.
- Other duties
Ø Prepare Reports for the Project(s) and /or Company’s Management (if and as required).
Ø Approve/sign the Time Sheets of the Engineering department personnel.
Ø Perform any other tasks assigned by line manager.
