Role Summary:
Reporting to the Risk Manager, the Risk Management Specialist(s) will be part of a Consulting Engineer team and will monitor and track the Contractors’ Risk Management performance to ensure appropriate identification, assessment, mitigation or elimination of project risks on a major Metro project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Risk Management Specialist(s) will be responsible for executing the risk management procedures that were developed for the program. They will review and facilitate risk identification, risk assessment (using both qualitative and quantitative methods), assist with developing treatment strategies and planning, and produce appropriate reports for the project. The chosen candidate(s) will also be responsible for maintaining the project related risk register(s), as required, throughout the project.
The chosen candidate(s) will have an understanding of key engineering and construction concepts and will be technically proficient in one or more risk management tools (i.e. Active Risk Manager, Primavera Risk Analysis, etc).
Key Responsibilities:
The objective of the Risk Management Specialist(s) is to assist the Risk Manager and the Consulting Engineer Team in the successful achievement of the Program objectives, through the application of ‘best practise’ risk management, specifically by:
• Comprehensively identifying Risks that might impact on the achievement of the Program Objectives
• Accurately assessing the potential impacts of the identified Risks
• Supporting development of Risk mitigation responses
• Quantifying adequate cost and time provisions for pre and post-response residual Risk impacts
• Monitoring the implementation of identified Risk responses; particularly identified Key Actions
• Monitoring changes in Risk exposure, identifying new Risks and modifying responses
• Supporting risk analysis associated with design and scope changes
• Undertaking validation reviews of Contractors’ quantitative cost and schedule analysis modelling and reporting on findings
• Data gathering to support monthly reports; including report preparation
• Data archiving
• Risk workshop facilitation
Skill Set
The successful candidate will have a previous experience in program and project level risk management & will meet ALL the essential criteria below:
Essential
• Degree in construction, engineering or business discipline (or related field)
• High degree of technical proficiency in implementing risk management procedures on major construction projects.
• Highly knowledgeable in the entire project risk lifecycle.
• Proficient with quantitative cost and schedule analysis using Monte Carlo simulation techniques
• Technically proficient in one or more risk management software tools (i.e. Active Risk Manager, Primavera Risk Analysis, @ Risk etc).
• H igh degree of competency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
• Minimum 8 years experience in a construction, engineering or related projects, with direct involvement with scheduling and planning functions
• High standard of written and verbal English language skills
