JOB PURPOSE:
Analyse Power System Performance in a Steady-State and Disturbed Condition. Review, update and improve the data base and procedures. Contribute in development of power system operation and control.
JOB CONTEXT:
This role operates under the direction of Superintendent, Technical Services. The prime responsibility of the job holder is to analyse the power system behaviour and performance. Review and develop policies and procedures for the power system operation and control. To study and simulate in advance the system expansion and point out any problem.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
Frequent status meetings with Superintendent, Technical Support.
Frequent communication with Senior Power Applications Engineer.
Frequent communication with Power Planning and Scheduling Engineer.
Frequent communication with Power Dispatch Engineer.
Monthly meetings with Department Personnel.
External:
None
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
6 - 8 years’ relevant operational or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
3 - 5 years experience of power dispatch operations.
Previous power system analysis experience is essential.
Previous supervisory/man-management experience is essential / is an advantage.
Project management experience is essential / is an advantage.
