OVERVIEW:
The Qualifications Training Manager is responsible for leading a team of skilled professionals covering functions that include writing and reviewing, editing, content development, and OJT training for curriculum materials and standardized assessments that address the needs of our clients.
The Qualifications Training Manager will oversee a variety of test and curriculum development activities such as item writing, editing, review, test assembly, test review, standard setting, and various client-facing activities as required.
Whilst the curriculum and assessment instruments will be controlled and supervised by the unit, many items will originate through the Technical Training Manager [from the technical instructors and senior instructors on the various JST programs], through the Qualifications Training Manager, and through the Academic Training Manager.
The Qualifications Training Manager reports to the Director of Training and coordinates with the Academic Training Manager and the Technical Training Manager.
The Curriculum and Assessment Unit Head is expected to take an active and proactive role with managers and supervisors in the wider management team to ensure effective delivery of the training program and adoption of policies and practices to achieve targeted results.
Managing a team of 5-7 skilled professionals
Liaising with accrediting external bodies
Managing effective delivery lines by monitoring workloads and assigning appropriate personnel to tasks
Managing multiple activities simultaneously, and coordinating, prioritizing and completing such activities within agreed timelines and according to deadlines
Ensuring the quality of the curriculum and assessment meets institutional and industry standards
Overseeing the preparation of curriculum materials and tests according to specifications and schedule
Facilitating accurate initial placement and psychometric measurement of trainees
Helping organise the effective evaluation of trainee progress through standardised and benchmarked progress and achievement tests
Coordinating test setting, test item development, test item review, and other test development activities
Maintaining security of tests and ancillary materials
Editing and proofreading test content and test-related materials in a range of subject areas
Ensuring consistency of style and accuracy of curricular content to ensure the highest editorial quality
Reviewing schemes of work periodically
Analyzing and reporting curriculum and assessment outcomes in accordance with standing policies and procedures
Explain statistical analyses and reports to a variety of audiences
Coordinating with subject matter experts to review and revise test and curriculum materials
Contributing new ideas to improve work processes
Participating in the evaluation of instructional staff on an ad hoc basis
Facilitating instructor and trainee evaluation of the programme and materials
Overseeing aspects of the implementation and administration of the MIS trainee information system
Overseeing the implementation and administration of the LXR on-line testing system
Liaising with other line managers and collaborating with SPSP internal departments and external bodies
Providing alternative and flexible solutions to issues that affect TQ SPSP schedules and budgets
