Job Purpose : Running the optical showrooms to meet a company’s sales target and policies
Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales target, “bottom-line” profits of the stores and minimizing costs.
- Staff is fully versed on the target for the day and excellent customer care standards are met
- Maintain, encourage and possess “ownership mentality”.
- Ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards
- Deal with human resources, marketing, logistics, information technology, customer service and finance.
Duties
- Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency.
- Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes monitoring sales targets against the sales forecast and submitting the required reports to the senior management with recommendation for improving the sales and profit.
- Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues.
- Initiating changes to improve sales to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market.
- Providing a positive working environment and handle employee issues appropriately.
- Management of all stores operational issues
- Promoting the organization locally by liaising with groups e.g. universities, schools, insurance subscribers and the community in general.
- Organizing special promotions, displays and events.
- Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development.
- Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues.
- Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail optics industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing.
- Devising and monitor loss prevention and shrink programs.
- Monitoring store revenue, including cash handling and delivery of deposits to bank.
- Ensure interior and exterior of stores is maintained to company standards.
- Monitoring speed of service results, controls inventory that is used for service orders, and is responsible for the overall organization and appearance of the service center.
- Monitoring the Ordering and receiving spare parts for service orders, returning defective parts to customer service department.
- Devising policies and roles to ensure all orders are properly documented and released for pick-up.
- Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
- Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues.
- Setting and exceptional customer service programs and ensure the employees also provide the same level of service.
- Responding to customer complaints and comments.
- Attending and chairing meetings.
- Dealing with sales, as and when required.
