Manage the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the SAP modules and services assigned to the job holder in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of business transformation programs and the achievement of the overall strategic objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The position has responsibility and accountability for the roll out, effective implementation and maintenance of the SAP system for the respective module areas assigned to the role holder. There are direct reports as mentioned elsewhere in this document and it is the responsibility of the job holder to organise them into a structured team with clear goals and objectives for delivery of the solutions in the respective modules. The modules are in various stages of implementation and integrating all the modules is seen as a priority area. The development of new trainees is also part of the daily activities. The training of all SAP users are also the responsibility of this job holder. A good understanding of the business processes is a must.
Manage the roll out of the SAP project, from definition stage through the analysis, design and implementation, and ensure optimum integration between the business and SAP system.
Develop strategies and advise management on optimising the use of SAP system and resources across the organisation in order to identify and maximise opportunities to improve and support business process.
Manage the design, integration and support of SAP system and align existing and new technologies with the SAP system to solve and support existing business process and future initiatives.
Manage the customising and programming for SAP modules in the functional areas to ensure system support the business process.
Design and develop programs for technical guidance and training for all SAP users and consultants to ensure optimum utilisation of SAP capabilities in the business process.
Continually review current SAP responsibilities against organisation needs by the evaluation, integration, implementation and support of SAP technology in order to identify areas where SAP technology can resolve current business problems.
Maintain awareness of the SAP applications functionality, best practices and SAP trends and directions, and recommend and implement suitable practices in the organisation.
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Ensure the effective achievement of departmental functional objectives through the leadership of the SAP function - setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.
