The Consultant Anesthesia is responsible for administration of general and local anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedures patients under consultant supervision.
He or she interprets and records patient’s psychological and pharmacological status.
• He or she will Provide required patient care and management in the field of anesthesiology in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by department
• Complies with hospital’s standard and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission, processes and consultation
• Responsible for daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practices and patient discharge.
• Ensure appropriate patient preparation for procedures and surgery
• To provide high quality of anesthesia care to patient and manage medical care for patient pre, during and pro-surgery
• Review patients’ chart including lab, X-Ray, ECG and other information and evaluate physical status and anesthesia risk
• Discuss anesthetic plan, as well as alternatives, risks and benefits of the chosen of anesthetic techniques with patient prior to surgery
• To perform preparative medical evaluation of each patient before surgery, consults and plans the surgery with surgical team
• He or she is responsible for after anesthesia administration
• To keep track record of patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and other related aspects
• Responsible for immediate information, in case of emergency to the concerned medical specialist
• Provide airways management, intra-operative life support, pain control, intra-operative diagnostic stabilizing and prepares patient for emergency surgery
• To make sure that the airway is clear for proper air flow from in and out of the patient’s body by airway equipment
• He or she is responsible for reporting the occurrence of malfunctioning in any equipment to the appropriate person
• Responsible for carrying out basic trouble shooting steps for solving problem
• Perform other related duties, as assigned
