JOB SUMMARY
To ensure quality nursing care is maintained throughout KFMC by assisting with education of nursing staff in relation to Quality principles and projects that will enhance this process. To assist with collection of data in relation to international patient safety goals and other requirements as requested by nursing affairs
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists in development, implementation and evaluation of ongoingquality programs which assure quality nursing, and patient care programs consistent with the Hospital mission.
2. Assets quality needs, planning and implementing or coordinating initiatives based on best practice options.
3. Actively pursues new developments in related nursing clinical practice, education, JCI standards, and other regulatory requirements and participates in activities which contribute to professional growth and development.
4. Is responsible to monitor nursing department’s operational excellence in the assigned area, and ensures that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
5. Review repetitive complaints, incidents and accidents and conduct Failure Mode Analysis, preventive error initiatives with required training, manuals or checklists.
6. Monitor nursing activities in the assigned area so that quality services are provided in an efficient and effective manner to meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
7. Incorporate quality needs into quarterly plan of nursing quality projects/initiatives, after studding effort/impact/importance, and forward it chain of command for consideration.
8. Measure quality improvement projects/initiatives impact and effectiveness and participate in writing/updating related policies and procedures, and related training courses.
9. Prepares annual nursing quality reports for review by the nursing administration, quality department and training administration, including statistical analysis/graphs, impact of quality projects/initiatives, future quality plans.
10. Assists in the preparation, coordination and follow-up of nursing quality improvement activities to comply withthe accreditation and regulatory.
11. Provide education to staff in relation to quality with coordination with Nursing Education Department.
12. Attends and actively participate in all assigned quality committee meetings.
13. Maintains departmental productivity measurements and reports status monthly.
14. Participate to directs department activities in a manner consistent with organization wide programs and procedures
15. Participating in Performance Improvement Plan monitoring activities.
16. Perform other assigned tasks relevant to this function, including but not limited to patient safety initiatives and training
