Job Description:

To respond to quotation requests within target timescales, recognizing that invariably price is a key factor, yet seeking to balance customer acceptance with the minimization of associated risk to the company. To provide creative quotation solutions whilst ensuring that key factors (e.g. number of members, age, relationships, industry, location, previous claim history, government regulations, policy class and coverage, and the company pricing guidelines) are all properly factored into the calculation.
 
Responsibilities :

• To lead, motivate and direct section supervisors, and through them, section officers, highlighting business priorities and targets in order to achieve team goals .
• To maintain an up-to-date and detailed knowledge of industry standards, regulations and market conditions so as to be in a position to inform staff of changes, advise team members in respect of technical enquiries, and personally undertake quotation work reference some of the most complex and important customers
• To manage key elements of the of the profitability of the Health Insurance portfolio: Pricing risk competitively and negotiating appropriate terms and conditions Ensuring high levels of service in response to requests for proposals
• Supporting development and delivery of attractive products for key client relationships; turning potential client quotations into actual premium income
• Improving both quality of service and efficiency of operations;
• developing clear procedures and supportive systems that reduce cost and minimize error
• To maintain a “reaching out to the client” service ethos that will enhance the company reputation and brand whilst building client loyalty and retention
• To carefully tailor the underwriting of quotes and policies to clients needs whilst negotiating ‘commercially’ on prices and details of any variations in standard terms and conditions
• To actively monitor the key sales and profitability performance ratios investigating and rectifying any negative variances whilst identify and replicating any positive variances
• improving quotation closing ratios and renewal rates
• To ensure smooth implementation of new business by transferring quotation documentation to Policy Admin on acceptance by customer
• To note the outcome of quotation proposals, responding flexibly to requests for further reviews and analyzing alternatives to resolve issues
• To ensure achievement of performance standards for timing, quality and most significantly, viability and competitiveness of quotes offered
• To liaise with Sales teams and other departments in order to seek and devise quotation solutions which prove attractive to customers
• To select, direct, develop, coach, appraise and motivate supervisors and staff within Health Insurance dept. in order to optimize their skills, performance and potential
• To provide regular and ad hoc reports for Senior Management as required in respect of output and departmental concerns, taking care to include information in respect of the company branches offices
