JOB PURPOSE
The Learning and Development Manager will work closely with the Head of HR and contribute to the strategic direction of the team’s work in order to ensure that it fits and advances the business objectives. The learning and development manager will lead on the implementation on of the strategic plan, notably in advancing Management Development, leading on the implementation of technology based platforms for learning and overseeing the implementation requirement of new roles and contracts alongside HR and New Business. The learning and development manager will also provide direct line management to staff within the team.
 
DUTIES
Contribution to and implementation of Learning and Development strategy
Work with the Head of HR on creating the learning and development strategic plan in order that it meets with and advances the organisational objectives
Lead on the practical implementation of the learning and development strategy, including creation of policies.
Management of a technology based platform for learning
Lead on the design, implementation and ongoing management of an effective technology based learning platform for the organisation
· Research and recommend new and emerging technologies
Management Development
· Work with managers and the Directors of Operations to complete a detailed training needs analysis for Senior Management Teams
· Design, deliver and evaluate effective management training on a wide range of subjects, including: People Management, Change Management, Facilitation skills, as well as liaising with external training providers
· Create a curricular approach to Management Development and ensure that management induction for all roles is fit for purpose
· Create structures/initiatives for ongoing management development including coaching, mentoring and action learning sets.
People Development
Lead on implementing a robust talent management structure
· Work with HR to ensure that competency frameworks are created for all roles
· Work with the Head of HR in the planning and coordination of the training calendar each year
· Work with the Operations to develop a curricular approach to operational staff training.
Evaluation and Reporting
Design measures to analyse and report on the learning outcomes of training - to quantify the value added to business
Develop assessments to monitor the effectiveness of skills based staff training
Produce reports including MI that demonstrates the value added of learning and development initiatives
Critically evaluate existing learning and development processes and procedures and come up with new ideas
Line Management of Learning and Development Staff
Provide direct line management to a team of learning and development professionals
