The human resource director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function.
responsibilities
Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
1. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures agency’s compliance.
2. Maintains responsibility for agency compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
3. Communicates changes in agency personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
4. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of agency wage and salary program.
5. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
6. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.
7. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
8. Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the agency.
9. Develops and maintains a human resource system that meets agency personnel information needs.
