Diagnostic radiologists diagnose diseases of the human body using x-rays; ultrasound; magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); computed tomography (CT), which gives cross sections of internal body parts by analyzing the imaging findings and giving a provisional or final diagnosis of disease entities and/or differential diagnosis of pathological findings.
Duties and Responsibility :
1 advise doctors on the best radiographic examination to perform on a patient
2 explain examination procedures to patients beforehand, and discuss the results with them afterwards
3 supervise medical radiation technologists when they perform radiographic examinations on patients
.4 perform examinations that medical radiation technologists are not qualified to perform
5 interpret images from radiographic examinations, which may include MRI, ultrasound and nuclear medicine
6 review examination with the patient's doctors.
8 teach other health professionals such as medical students, trainee radiologists, medical radiation
technologists and nurses
