Main responsibilities and duties
• In charge of the day-to-day operations of the Transportation department
• Ensure compliance with the traffic and Saudi regulations policies, which relate to the service, legislation and procedures and with safety standards
• Manage, monitor and develop a team of supervisors and drivers
• Arrange for the induction and training of all new staff
• Liaise regularly with supervisors to ensure a smooth run of the operation
• Appraise staff performance and take disciplinary measures when required
• Manage efficiently the transportation fleet vehicles, making sure they are properly maintained and serviced; organize vehicle inspections
• Get the right products in the right quantities, to the right locations and at the right time
• Participate in strategic development and strategy making
• Attend periodic review meetings and present required reports
• Develop and nurture customer relationships
• Maintain accurate administrative records
• Identify operational issues, potential problems and improvement opportunities
• Resolve and escalate issues (when required)
• Resolve and manage queries and complaints courteously and efficiently
• Ensure both site and customer objectives are achieved
• Conduct H&S investigations
