With a strategic focus on developing “world-ready and work-ready” graduates, the campuses specialize in delivering a number of diploma programs in the areas of tourism, hospitality, culinary, business, food technology and a foundation program for English language development.
Applicants are invited for the position of Human Resources Senior Manager, Niagara College including all NC KSA based campuses. Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Senior Manager is responsible for the continued smooth operations of the HR department by maintaining and enhancing the college’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. The Human Resources Manager must liaise with members of the HR team across all campuses, the Government Relations Officer and Campus Principals. The Human Resources Manager also sits on various committees and takes an active role in HR planning.
This position has a duration of 12 months, with possibility of renewal, and with an anticipated start date of as soon as possible. It is expected that the incumbent be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Development of NC KSA HR policies, procedures and projects with local expertise and ensure efficient implementation
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary HR practice and provide suitable interpretation to managers and staff within the organization
• Supports and implements processes for, performance management, training & development and organizational development
• Assists with updating and monitoring job requirements and job descriptions for all KSA-based positions
• Prepares employees for assignments by establishing, overseeing and conducting orientation and training programs at all NC KSA sites
• Liaises with the finance department staff to monitoring and scheduling individual payroll, benefits and vacation entitlements
• Ensures employee effectiveness overseeing performance reviews and scheduling
• Coaches HR staff and managers in effective performance management strategies and reviews
• Manages staff who oversee the day to day HR operational activities including employee benefits program, employee files and legal paperwork at all NC KSA sites
• Ensures KSA legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource government requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
• Oversees and monitors the HRIS platform and ensures regular updates to the database
• Ensures that management guidelines are met by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
• Organizes and archives historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system for current and previous records
• Provides expertise in strategy execution, planning, and facilitation of employee relations efforts
• Liaises with management on performance and employee relations matters
• Manages human resource staff job at all NC KSA sites
