ALS is looking for a Business Development Manager for the Environmental business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and GCC region. This is an extensive role with the successful candidate being involved in all areas of the Business Management including the financial performance, client relationships and human resource management. Ultimately the role is responsible for the effective and efficient running of the environmental business and delivering an exceptional client experience. Principal duties and scope of the role are detailed below:
Ensures that ALS Policies and Procedures are fully implemented and actively promotes a site culture which embraces the ALS Core Values.
Responsibility for site P&L and achieving agreed budgetary targets including turnover, EBIT and ROS.
Develops the strategic plan by studying market, technological and financial opportunities providing advice to the Group Manager.
Develops strategies and policies to achieve the company’s future goals.
Effectively utilises resources to ensure that client expectations are met in terms of delivery performance.
Develops client relationships to ensure client retention and reviews opportunities to secure additional business through cross selling value added services.
Supports the retention of client accounts through the delivery of expected KPI’s, contract review and the day to day overview of the business performance.
Monitors business performance metrics through KPI management and instigates business improvements which influence these agreed metrics.
Drives business performance through continuous improvement including the implementation of group initiatives, methodology and procedures. Rolls out business improvements to the wider group and shares best practice.
Oversees the management of resources including stock, site and personnel costs to ensure that budgetary and KPI targets are achieved.
Ensures that all aspects of the Quality Management system are in place and ensures that site accreditations are maintained.
Maintains a safe working environment. Monitors accidents and incidents and ensures that appropriate corrective actions are put in place. Ensures all appropriate site activities are risk assessed and action is taken to minimise risk. Submits a Monthly and Annual Compliance Report.
Manages staff resources through effective performance management, dealing promptly with issues and ensuring that personnel have the appropriate skills to support the business.
Communicates effectively with staff to ensure that they are motivated and productive within all roles.
Determines staffing requirements and oversee the recruitment and training processes, including a suitable succession plan.
Provides training, mentoring and coaching as necessary.
Produces a Environmental Business Plan on a periodic basis and reports on progress. Provides a Monthly Report detailing the key aspects and updates of the business.
Follows industry market trends including legislative and technical developments.
The position will report into the General Manager for the GCC but also work directly with Managers around the business
