Main purpose of job
To coordinate projects across the company to determine project
objectives and timetable and to ensure that all objectives are met
within agreed timescales and budgets.
Main responsibilities
1. Maintain regular contact with operational managers and external
contractors to define the scope of projects and the resulting
implementation plans.
2. Define, in consultation with operational managers, the benefits,
costs, key result areas and success criteria for defined projects.
3. Define project stages and the objectives and costs associated with
each stage.
4. Identify the resources required at each project stage to meet project
objectives and negotiate the release of these resources with
operational managers.
5. Assess the impact of any one project on other concurrent projects
and allocate resources as necessary to achieve the optimum
results.
6. Monitor and report on project progress in a structured manner,
drawing particular attention to deviations from the original
project plan.
7. Maintain and update the project plan.
8. Direct and control the project team to ensure that they achieve
their objectives and that the best possible use is made of available
staff resources.
9. Review all projects and modify performance measures as necessary.
