- Manage patients with ESI-level 4&5 in non-critical area in Emergency Department outside duty hours.
- Document clearly and completely the initial history, physical examination and/or assessment of patient condition to the appropriate hospital templates and/or track care system as required.
- Undertakes minor procedures like Wound dressing, suturing, NGT insertion, IV cannulation, Gastric lavage, Catheterization and intubation provided that he has training and master the skills.
- Adheres to ER Department and other hospital policies &procedures, by-laws, guidelines and protocols mandated by the Medical Board Committee and the hospital management.
- Observe harmonious working relationship with other hospital staff.
- Collaborates with other ER staff and other hospital department staff.
- Maintain decency and professionalism at work areas and abide to the hospital Code of Conduct.
- Adheres to Medico – Legal requirements regarding trauma cases, physical assault, Alcohol and Narcotic prescription and administration, Drug overdose, poisoning etc. as per ER Department and Hospital guidelines and protocols.
- Manages ER cases efficiently and competently.
- Open minded to resolve any dispute with colleagues and other entities relative to ER Patient Care Services.
- Exercise appropriate judgments in assessing and managing patients.
- Immediately transfer critical patient at Resuscitation Room without delay.
- Seek assistance from ER Senior Registrar or Registrar when necessary.
- Participates in the implementation of ER Department and Hospital programs such as; Infection Control, Quality Assurance Programs and Medical Staff CME activities.
- Interprets mission, vision and objectives of the hospital.
- Reports to the consultant and/or specialist any difficulties and problem encountered in managing ER patients and at work.
- Attends medical staff meetings regularly.
- Immediately responds to hospital Codes such as; Code Blue etc.
- Share actively in patient & family education in collaboration with all related other healthcare givers.
- May help in triaging out none emergency patients during duty hours in case of resistant patients.
- Comply with the standards laid down by the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards (JCIA), performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
- Through the chain of command and /or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitor and situation that put patients, staff and visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned with the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
