- Examine, diagnose and treat patients with diseases and disorders of the oral cavity and facial areas pertinent to his specialty area.
- Provide follow-up specialty care for screening and other assigned or referred patients.
- Provide triage and/or emergency services for emergency room patients and/or consultations involving his specialty area.
- Participate in the “on-call” schedule and the recruitment session as needed/or required.
- Provide consultations to other Consultants, Dental Senior Registrar/Registrar, and Residents concerning dental conditions and treatment in his specialty area.
- Provide clinical and didactic instruction to dental trainees.
- Manage medical, radiographic and appointment records.
- Manage laboratory records and prescriptions.
- Immediately supervise the assigned dental assistant.
- Participate in other activities including hospital committees, departmental meetings, continuing education seminars, teachings, etc.
- Comply with the standards laid down by the Central Board For Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and JCI performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
- Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
- Perform other applicable tasks assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and ability
- Share actively in patient and family education in collaboration with all related other healthgivers.
