- Examine, diagnose and treat patients with diseases and disorders of the oral cavity and facial areas.
- Provide follow-up care for screening and other assigned or referred patients.
- Provide triage and/or emergency services for emergency room patients and/or consultations involving dental specialty area.
- Provide routine dental treatment:
- Oral prophylaxis and oral hygiene instructions.
- Endodontic treatment for single rooted teeth.
- Simple surgical treatment-extractions, management of minor oral trauma and treatment of dental infections and dentoalveolar abscess.
- Restorations, pulpotomy and extraction of deciduous teeth, fluoride application, pit and fissure sealing and restorations in pediatric patients.
- Simple cases of removable prostheses and fixed crowns and bridges
- Manage medical, radiographic and appointment records.
- Manage laboratory records and prescriptions.
- Immediately supervise the assigned dental assistant.
- Participate in other activities including hospital committees, departmental meetings, continuing education seminars, teachings, etc.
- Share actively in patient & family education in collaboration with all related other healthcare givers
- Comply with the standards laid down by the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards (JCIA), performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
- Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
- Perform other applicable tasks assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and ability.
