Job Responsibilities: Duties are representative not inclusive
1. Establishing the work in his/ her section by organizing and dividing workload in monthly or weekly schedule (Rota) for the available staff.
2. Ensuring the provision of efficient laboratory services by monitoring and enforcing professional standards of laboratory practice within his section.
3. Supervise the performance of the technical staff in his/ her section and solving any technical problem, serve as counselor in providing her / his expertise to maintain the best level of accuracy.
4. Formulating policies and procedures of his/ her section according to approved professional standard.
5. Assisting in the development of laboratory goals and objective that are compatible with the laboratory’s mission statement.
6. Assist in development and forecasting changes in demand for the type and quantity of laboratory services.
7. Assist in the determining laboratory priorities and related allocation of resources according to department needs.
8. Responsible for applying the lab safety measures, preventive maintenance of the equipment.
9. Ensuring that staff is maintaining the optimal standard and applying the rules and regulation according to the policy and procedure of each section.
10. Participating in laboratory or hospital committee as assigned by the laboratory administration.
11. Submitting monthly report to the laboratory HOD regarding all his clinical and administrative activities.
12. Participating in the internal and external quality control scheme (Proficient testing).
13. Checking the supplies with his section supervisor and ensuring that it is provided on regular basis and reporting to the HOD if running out of stock by amble of time.
14. Ensuring that safety policies are implemented in his/ her section.
15. Participates in continuing education to his/ her staff, conducts in service education, attends workshops, seminars, lectures to keep current on new instrumentation, techniques, procedures.
16. Assist in teaching college of health science students, Medical technology students, science students when they rotate through the section.
17. Responsible for the quality improvement related to his /her job.
18. Responsible for the safety issues related to his/her job.
19. Responsible for the confidentiality of information that they have access to or came across during their work at Abeer and should sign confidentiality agreement.
20. Responsible for complying with the hospital code of conduct and the patient and family rights standards.
Performs miscellaneous related duties as requested.
