Job responsibilities: Duties are representative not inclusive
1. Performs routine tests in a departments of the lab as assigned (Hematology, Biochemistry, Hormones, Microbiology, Blood bank, Serology, Parasitological and Histopathology.
2. Receiving and recording of the samples according to the policy of acceptance and rejection and releasing the results after its approval by Lab Manager/ Head of the department.
3. Performs quality control measures, to ensure proper functioning of instrument, reagents and procedures.
4. Ensure………., operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment as per the quality control standards.
5. Proper preparation of samples according the criteria required for each test.
6. Cleaning of the working area & cleaning of instruments as per IPC protocols and equipment as well to follow the process of biohazard waste disposal.
7. Recognizes instrument malfunction and abnormal test result (panic values) and notify the section supervisor for corrective action to be taken.
8. Carry out proper lab safety and infection control measures.
9. Switching off the energy sources (as gas supply & electric current) and the water supplies at the end of the day except the machine that works for the 24hrs as (the refrigerators & the incubators).
10. Performing the routine work accurately & with cautions.
11. Releasing of some laboratory results as assigned by HOD as per assigned privileges.
12. Responsible for the quality implementation and improvement related to his /her job.
13. Responsible for the confidentiality of information that they have access to or came across during their work at Abeer and should sign confidentiality agreement.
14. Responsible for complying with the hospital code of conduct and the patient and family rights standards.
Performs miscellaneous related duties as requested.
