• Design, plan, and supervise the construction of landscapes, gardens etc.


• Responsible for the safety, usefulness, and aesthetics of their designs.


• Design landscapes that satisfy clients' needs while conforming to the laws and regulations.


• Discuss the objectives, requirements and budget of a project.


• Consult with other professionals about the design of an environment.


• Prepare and present feasibility reports and design proposals to the client.


• Advise the client on the practicality of their project.


• Assist with site selection.


• Use IT tools in designing and project management, specifically using software packages.


• Keep within financial budgets and deadlines.


• Produce detailed workings, drawings and specifications.


• Specify the nature and quality of materials required.


• Project manage and coordinate the work of contractors.


• Ensure that the environmental impact of the project is limited.


• Provide various predesigned services which may include conducting feasibility and environmental impact studies, selecting a site, or specifying the requirements the design must meet.


• Prepare drawings and present ideas for the client to review.


• Develop final construction plans that show the landscape's appearance as well as details for its construction.


• Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, colour,
  equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.


• Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of design.


• Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents.
