POSITION SUMMARY
- Responsible for developing and implementing all accounting and internal control procedures and ensuring ongoing compliance to all procedures to ensure a sound control environment is in place across JIGPC.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for JIGPC on all internal control issues and the application of accounting and control related policies.
- Responsible for managing the risk management process across all JIGPC’s operational and functional departments.
- Responsible for providing direct support to the Risk and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, implements and maintains all internal control policies, procedures and accounting standards with regular monitoring to ensure ongoing compliance. All amendments to the JIGPC key policies and procedures will require BOD approval.
- Directs and conducts internal control assurance/due diligence reviews to assess compliance, across all JIGPC’s departments, to the company’s overall system of internal control, its policies and operating procedures, identify gaps and make recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Maintains the company’s Delegation of Authority Matrix and ensures all authorities are being properly exercised in accordance with the Delegation of Authority.
- Responsible for directing and maintaining the company’s overall risk management process and conducting regular risk reviews to ensure all company risks are being monitored and appropriate mitigation plans by management are being implemented.
- Work with Legal Department in directing and managing the ethics assurance process to ensure compliance with JIGPC’s ethics policy/code of conduct including the leading of investigations when potential code of conduct breaches have been raised. Maintain the Gifts & Entertainment and Conflicts of Interest registers.
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of procedures in place to protect and safeguard the company’s assets.
- Undertake and lead any control related projects and due diligence reviews as and when directed by the CFO or the Risk and Audit Committee Chairperson.
- Work closely with the JIGPC’s external auditors on any internal control related issues.
